Let’s face it, even if we’re physically worn out, no Mom in this world would sit out from a game with our family just because we aren’t feeling well. So, here are 4 REALISTIC healthy habits you can try sneaking in between your tight schedule to make sure you aren’t forgetting your priorities.
1. Ask for help
Believe it or not, letting down our guard once in a while and be more truthful to ourselves can lead us into a much healthier lifestyle; if not physically, then mentally. A happy Mom should never be afraid to ask help from family, relatives, and friends. Being a Mom is not a ticket for us to leave our life behind and devote ourselves to the family 300%.
Moms should never forget that we are humans and we have our dreams and goals. If parenting gets a little bit crazy, ask a hand from Mr. Husband. A loving father should understand and help you lift some burden from your shoulders. If you plan on having a “girls night out” with your besties on the weekends, a very happy Moms just say, “Please”, not “I can handle this”.
2. Do mini-workouts (and make it fun!)
I know, you must be thinking, having a job from 9 to 5 and making dinner soon after isn’t the exact ideal schedule to sneak in a mini exercise. Well, what if I tell you exercising shouldn’t necessarily mean treadmills and biking! Any type of movement counts as exercise in my book. If you enjoy gardening, definitely that counts as a workout. If you enjoy long walks around the park, that too counts as a workout. If you enjoy window shopping (but it doesn’t hurt to reward yourself with occasional new purse purchase right?), then drag your family to your local mall and do a few laps around.
The idea here is to set yourself in the correct mindset and consider any types of movements consider as an exercise. It doesn’t matter what you do, if you enjoy your unique way of moving around, you’ll have stronger motivations to do it regularly.
3. Don’t skip the good food!
Even though we are talking about healthy habits here, it’s ironic how having a pizza break once in a while can be a healthy decision for your body! All too often, we’re overworked, over-stressed, and spread too thin. After all, it’s scientifically proven that our “sleepy brains associate junk food with reward and pleasure” when we are tired.
However, getting every snack on the junk food aisle and pulling up to a fast food joint too often isn’t the solution as well. Instead, start your day off healthy and then let your body tells you what to eat on the next meal. A good healthy breakfast like Greek yogurt parfait, hearty oatmeal, or eggs and fruit are smart choices for giving our bodies what they need to sustain themselves all morning!

4. Take a cold shower, in the morning and night
